The Moth Who Carried a Lantern

Long ago, before the lantern paths were built, the woods were dark.

The first lantern was carried by a moth no larger than a child's hand.

Every night it flew a little farther into the Elderwilds, hanging lights among the roots so that wanderers might find their way home.

Some say the lantern paths still burn because the moth is out there yet, carrying fresh lights into the darkness.
