The shamans of the Hollowwind taught that smoke was more than drifting ash upon the air.

It was a prayer made visible.

To guide those prayers, they fashioned ceremonial fans from wood, leather, bone, and feather—each gathered from the quiet offerings of the mountains. No living creature was harmed for their making, for every piece was believed to carry the memory of the life from which it came.

No two Hollowwind Fans were ever alike.

Each was shaped by the hands of its maker and chosen for the ceremonies it would one day serve.

When sacred herbs and resins were lit, the shaman did not wave the fan to scatter the smoke.

They guided it.

With slow, deliberate movements, the fragrant veil was carried through homes, shrines, and sacred places, gathering lingering sorrow, restless energies, and burdens too heavy for one heart alone. It was believed the smoke made these unseen weights visible to the Hollowwind, that they might finally be carried beyond the mountains.

Many ceremonies marked the turning of life's great seasons—birth, death, healing, remembrance, and new beginnings. Others were performed simply because a home had grown heavy with silence, grief, or time.

The people of the Hollowwind never believed the fan possessed power of its own.

It was merely the hand that greeted the wind.

For the Hollowwind had always known where every burden belonged.
