The Watcher Below
Lore

"Do not linger near still water after dusk. The forest is not the only thing that watches."

Long before paths were carved through the old marshlands, there were stories of something that dwelled beneath the roots.

The hunters of the Gloamwood spoke of pale eyes seen beneath blackwater pools—unmoving, unblinking, waiting beneath the reeds while the forest stood silent around them. Some believed it was a spirit of the drowned woods. Others claimed it was older than the trees themselves.

The Watcher Below was never said to chase, nor speak.

It waited.

Offerings left beside the mire would vanish by morning:

bones bound in twine,

rusted charms,

feathers soaked dark with rain,

small relics surrendered to the water in hopes of safe passage through the Gloamwood.

Those who mocked the old rites often vanished from the trails soon after. Yet those who honored the forgotten things of the marsh claimed they could feel the Watcher observing from beneath the roots—ancient, patient, and ever watchful.

This relic is fashioned in the likeness of those old effigies said to have been found among the drowned shrines of the marshlands.

Its hollow gaze and suspended jaw evoke the image of something once bound to the deep blackwater beneath the tangled roots. Part guardian, part warning, and part remembrance of something that should never fully rise from below.

Crafted from reclaimed natural materials, The Watcher Below carries the quiet weight of something ancient—patient, silent, and endlessly observing from beneath the waters of the Gloamwood.

The Watcher Below

Handmade and one-of-a-kind relic from the Gloamwood Collection.

Crafted from a reclaimed coyote skull and weathered driftwood gathered from the marsh, this piece draws inspiration from the ancient legends of the Gloamwood. The marsh-eaten eyes evoke pale shapes glimpsed beneath blackwater pools, while the waterlogged driftwood branches recall the tangled roots and drowned shrines said to lie hidden beneath the mire.

Within the old stories, the Watcher Below guarded forgotten paths through the marsh and kept watch over places long surrendered to moss, water, and time.

Handcrafted and one of a kind.
